Skilling for open and honest communication

The success and benefits of Open Disclosure rest on the ability of clinicians to conduct these difficult conversations with their patients.

Reticence by clinicians can often be due to confusion over expressions of regret, uncertainty of their legal position, fear of strong patient emotion, and not having the communication skills to empathically deal with these situations.

These workshops address all these issues and train clinicians in how to conduct open and honest communication with patients when things go wrong.
